An Explanation of the NaNoGenMo Spring Thing Prize

What is NaNoGenMo?

NaNoGenMo was a casual competition in fall 2013 to write code during the month of November that could generate a 50,000 word novel. It coincided with and is a reference to NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month, an annual event where humans attempt the same feat.

Isn't that really hard?

Almost impossible! Which was perhaps the point.

What is this prize, then?

The prize is a single physical copy of the prize winner's selection from a list of generated novels, derived from an opt-in list of NaNoGenMo participants. The prize donor will generate the novel from the available code, typeset it, send it to a print on demand service and have it delivered to the winner.

What novels can I choose from?

Available novels and the author of their code are as follows:

In addition, Nick Montfort has graciously offered a printed copy of his professionally printed NaNoGenMo novel World Clock as a separate prize.

I wrote a NaNoGenMo novel and it's not on this list!
